Pray Without Ceasing
5th June 2006
A number of prayer events were held throughout
the circuit as part of the pray without ceasing day. Here
is how the worship space in Broomhill Methodist Church was
transformed for the occasion ...
The prayer space contained various stations
each concentrating on a different aspect of prayer. These
prayer stations were linked together with footprints on the
floor, leading visitors through a prayer journey, starting
with a station for being still and focusing on God, another
where stones were used to symbolise our worries and concerns
and dropped into a pool of water, a place for giving thanks
and praise to God through various activities, and a reflective
'Holy Space' to just sit and be with God. Other stations provided
newspapers and magazines for cutting out articles and sticking
to a world prayer board, maps and candles for praying for
others, and a creative wall for painting prayers.
